Take 5 Oil Change launches Leadership Excellence Award
New award for corporate-level employees recognizes those who go above and beyond

Take 5 Oil Change, the stay-in-your-car quick lube service, announces a new Leadership Excellence Award for its corporate-level employees.
Mo Khalid, EVP and Group President, Maintenance at Driven Brands created the new annual award to recognize employees who consistently go above and beyond. “At Take 5, our success comes from our people,” he said.
“Recognition is an important part of our culture and we wanted to create an award to recognize those demonstrate excellence in all that they do.”
CEO Jonathan Fitzpatrick joined Mo at a luncheon at the Driven headquarters offices to recognize Frances Ralston and Mike Detrana from Marketing; Tyler Cagle, Salomon Sierra, and Anna Suggs from Franchise Operations; and Andrew Klink from Financial Planning & Analysis. Mo said, “Congrats to all of our winners and we salute your perpetual drive.”
This award builds upon the company’s dedication to employee recognition. Take 5 offers an ongoing “Take 5 High 5” recognition for shop employees who go above and beyond. More than 2,000 employees receive the award each year and receive a gift card and a certificate. On a monthly basis, Take 5 recognizes its best technicians through the Super Tech program. Finally, through the Take 5 Presidents Club, the best managers and district mangers go on an amazing vacation – with their families.
Take 5 Oil Change is known for its Pit Tech to President program, offering a career path to everyone who joins the organization. More than 85% of shop managers, more than 55% of district managers, and 100% of regional directors have been promoted from within Take 5 Oil Change.
Mo plans to expand the Leadership Excellence award to the field in 2024.
